Comprehensive school-based resource for secondary school staff to utilize for a holistic approach to substance use prevention in their school

The Toolkit is intended to provide assistance for preventative education, identification and support to school staff as they deal with students at their school. The resource is part of an initiative funded by the National Crime Prevention Strategy "which addresses substance abuse as part of an overall plan to reduce criminal behaviour among youth. Schools can play a role in minimizing substance abuse for youth."

Application/relevance to curriculum:

Lesson plans could be used in Marketing, Careers, Health and Physical Education.

Comments:

This resource could be used a template for other schools wanting to address substance abuse in a comprehensive school health manner. Schools will need to develop their own policy.
